Roscha McDonald is the founder and director of Turning Point Technique Ltd.
Roscha has a 1st class Honours degree in Social Anthropology from Queen's University Belfast. While there she was awarded several scholarships and accolades in every year of her studies, including the Anne Maguire Memorial prize for the Best Dissertation 2008.
While a student Roscha was selected to undertake additional research into sectarianism among young people in Belfast and Derry/ Londonderry. This research contributed to a cross community project and a publication on sectarianism and segregation. This practical experience of researching and interviewing was instrumental in shaping Roscha's skills in active listening, quickly building rapport and developing trust with some of the most socially isolated in our community.
Putting this wealth of knowledge into practice Roscha began working for Women's Aid, supporting women and children affected by domestic violence. Working with individuals traumatised by all forms of violence - not only in intimate relationships but often within their communities - served to compound Roscha's skills and abilities in coaching, mentoring and mediating by, with and for isolated and disengaged members of our society.
Throughout the years Roscha has expanded her knowledge and added to her academic repertoire:
- Certificate in Counselling (Dinstinction, QUB),
- NVQ Working with Victims, Survivors and Witnesses (Pass, City & Guilds),
- Level 3 Diploma in Human Resources Practice( CIPD),
- OCN Resolving Conflict Through Mediation (CMIST)
Most recently Roscha has qualified as an Executive Coach with the highly regarded Academy of Executive Coaches. Through this qualification Roscha has expanded her skill set to working with Executives and high level managers, to increase performance, improve visibility and enhance skill sets. Those who have worked with Roscha comment on her ability to listen at a deep level and provide the challenges required in a constructive and supportive manner, enabling transformational change, both personally and professionally.
Putting her many years specialist experience and exceptional academic knowledge to use Roscha McDonald has developed a unique style and technique for working with individuals, businesses and charities to maximise potential, encourage growth and motivation, and provide empathic accountability to make the most of life's Turning Points.
